JAKE SEZ: obamas busy weekend

This has been a busy weekend for our president.  He attended the G-8 conference at Camp David and the NATO conference in Chicago.  At the G-8 meeting, the European countries, except Germany, have decided that the austerity programs are not bringing their economies under control.  Of course, Germany is the only country that has a stable economy.  All of the European countries, except Germany, had decided that they will continue to spend additional monies they don’t have to stimulate economic growth. President Obama has agreed with them.  Surprise, surprise!  He stated that he took their actions as vindication that his policy of adding additional spending is the correct way to help grow the U.S. Economy.  Politicians are so predictable.  Take the easy way out regardless of the consequences.

The NATO conference discussed the increase in green on blue killings.  That is the number of Afghanistan soldiers, which are fighting alongside the NATO troops, who turn their weapons against the NATO troops.  There has been over thirty-two of these killings this year alone.  What is NATO’s plan to halt these killing?  NATO, under American control, plans on giving our troops cultural awareness classes.  These classes will allow our troops to better understand the Afghanistan troops.  Political correctness runs amok.

JAKE SEZ: treaties

A series of one world government treaties are now being championed by members of congress and by the Obama administration.  By reading the new Dick Morris book “SCREWED” and by looking up these treaties on-line, you can become aware that there are powers in this world who would love to have the United States under their control. Treaties are more powerful that most people understand.  When a treaty is entered into by the the United States, it surpasses the power and guarantees of the constitution and the bill of rights.  Once entered into, it can be voided only by a constitutional amendment or by agreement of ALL parties to the treaty.  Our law states that treaties must be ratified by the Senate.  But, a treaty can be signed and declared in force by the president and the other parties to the treaty can claim that it is in affect.  Legal scholars are in a quandary as to this issue.

One of the one world government treaties being discussed deals with the manufacture and distribution of firearms in the United States and around the world.  What the Obama administration failed to do with Fast and Furious it may well accomplish with this treaty. Under this treaty, the United Nations will control all manufacturing and distribution of firearms.  They will control any export or sale of fire arms, even within the United States itself.  In order to be in compliance with the treaty, the United states will be forced to have a complete list of all firearms within in its jurisdiction.  This means the registration of all firearms.  In order to control all sales, private and public, it will need to seize those firearms and keep them in a safe and controlled environment.  This means seizure of all firearms.  Secretary of State Hilary Clinton is currently pushing this one.

The treaty that creates The Underseas Authority gives the UN control over the worlds oceans, including those with in our nations 200 mile limit.  It also has controls over pollution of the seas.  The thermal pollution section of this treaty would allow it to shut down coal fired power generating plants that might produce emissions which could flow into the seas and nuclear power plants that release warm water into the oceans.  This treaty also calls for a 50% share of all profits obtained from commercial ventures in the sea to be given to the United Nations.  These include mining, fishing, oil or gas wells and private or governmental operations involving the sea.  The United States would have to put a tax of 50% on these profits in order to give these monies to the UN.  This treaty also controls the movements of the U.S Navy.  The Navy would have to receive permission from the UN to move the fleet.  A sub-section would allow the UN to stop the United States from deploying the space missile defense due to the littering of space with satellite debris. These may sound far fetched, but they are being discussed by the United Nations. Considering who makes up the UN, it is not too far fetched at all.

There is also a treaty that deals with world aggression, which is also supported by the UN. This treaty would make it a criminal act to force your will upon another by force.  This sounds good, but it allows the world court to bring an individual to trial at the world court for participating in any war or skirmish that they, the World Court, feels is unjust.  The united States refused to participate unless we were given an exemption.  We were given a one year exemption, which has expired.  Our military men and women could be arrested and put on trial for doing their duty.  Hogwash you say, won’t happen!  Were you aware that President Bush had to cancel a trip to Europe last fall because the world court was considering a warrant for his arrest over the Afghanistan war.  This treaty does not stop there.  If you are charged in the United States for an act of violence and are acquitted, the world court can review the case and, if they decided it is warranted, bring you to trial in the world court on the same charge.  Much like the United States does with its hate crime legislation.

There are provisions in proposed treaties which would force the United States to participate in a world income tax system which would be run and supervised by the United Nations.  The goal of this tax is to give financial aide to poorer countries so as to make the world more equal in incomes and fairer in overall justice.  As well as lining the pockets of the members of the UN.  Former member of Congress Dick Gephart, who made a career fighting the influence of the Chinese and is now a lobbyist paid by the Chinese, is pushing this treaty.  Senator Richard Luger is also pushing for many of these UN treaties.  Is it no wonder he was defeated in his bid for re-election by a Tea Party candidate.  There is also a treaty being proposed which would give infants and children the same rights as adults. Who would be given the responsibility to define and enforce these rights?  If you said the United Nations, you would be correct. .

The end of the Obama administration, I HOPE, could end with the loss of many of our constitutional rights.  These people are socialist and dangerous.  Lets hope they do not want to take us down with them.  If they do, look out.

MARSHA ATKIN: my view of the convention

Republican State Convention, May 12, 2012
(My observations)

Saturday, 8-9 a.m. No sign in sheets:  I have never been to a convention or mandatory meeting that you didn’t have to sign in.  But there were no sign in sheets.  Just plain white envelops with a one-page copy of the rules (NO BALLOTS).  So basically we really don’t have a list of  WHO attended the meeting.  We knew the number of attendees by subtracting the number of envelopes left over.
No crowd control:  The RP (Ron Paul) people were evident from the start by the noise they made.  Interrupting speakers, booing (even during Romney’s son’s speech! He was gracious to them, yet they showed complete disrespect), shouting out “President Ron Paul” at various times–very rude to say the least.  The chairman should have made it clear in the beginning that there would be civility and decorum OR a police escort.  That never happened and the RP people just kept getting louder and more obnoxious, until it seemed that by the end of the meeting they were practically taking over.  The party leadership seemed to cower before them.
Lack of organization:—We were excused from the floor to meet with our various districts (1500 people).  The leaders of those CD meetings were not notified beforehand that they would be officiating (surprise, surprise!).   We were just getting settled when we were called back to the floor because the credentials hadn’t been reported—so 1500 people moved from the convention floor, to their various congressional district areas, back to the floor, and finally back to their district meetings. At that point we had to wait for the ballots to arrive.  So we waited and listened to more speakers….
Dishonesty? :    The ballots finally came in, printed on regular type paper.  Anyone could print more from a regular printer…. They were counted and we were short.  Did something happen to them?  Why didn’t they have enough? The State GOP KNEW how many delegates would be attending from each district—those totals were turned in weeks before.  Why didn’t they have the correct number?   So we waited again for more to be printed.  A woman came in and asked if anyone had a key to an office they could use to print more ballots.  Someone said they did, so they went off to print more.  How many more were printed?  Was there any security?
Other Strange Things :  When the results were finally in from the first vote (it was close to 2 p.m. at this time, only about 3 or 4 hours behind), a RP supporter ran outside to tell his friends that they had won two delegates—BEFORE the official word was given.  How did he know who won?  They seemed to have a very well organized plan to plant their delegates in opposition to Romney—the candidate that won the Primary by the voice of the people.  As soon as we figured out what was going on, we agreed to vote for the Romney slate (why can’t we get together and have just ONE slate?  Why do we always ‘shoot ourselves in the foot’? Why the division? If we had even KNOWN that Romney was putting a slate together maybe we wouldn’t have taken the effort to put together one that had pledged to uphold conservative principles AND support Romney!).
Unreal length of time to tally votes:  In years past, we were given ballots printed on cardstock and voting machines that could tally votes almost immediately.  There were no machines, no cardstock and basically no results.  It took literally hours to hear who won on various votes taken.  We were voting on the same people, the same ballot, when we didn’t know what people had been elected.  Wasted votes.  Also—the ballots were on 2 separate unconnected pieces of paper.  We were told that we could only vote for a certain amount…. But who would know how many were voted for when the two ballots aren’t connected?  We just put them in a plastic tub!
RP Purpose:  A friend overheard some RP people saying that one of their purposes that day was to prolong the meeting so the Romney Delegates would go home and the RP Alternates would be put in… I think they succeeded because the meeting lasted from 9 am to 9 pm and they did get delegates elected.
One of the last votes taken was the election of the National Committeewoman.  The bylaws state that the winner must win by 50% plus one.  With 3 people running, a ‘run off’ election was certainly a possibility.  Karen Johnson got the most votes with 300 plus, Sharon Giese with 200 plus and then Linda White with 175 (I didn’t write down the exact numbers).  The question arose about having a quorum to take that last vote.  By this time many people had left.   Do the State’s Bylaws say that a quorum must be maintained throughout the meeting, or just a quorum at the beginning?  No one could answer that question.  I couldn’t believe that they didn’t have a copy somewhere to refer to.  More RP supporters were arriving even after 8:30. The meeting ended at 9:00 p.m., with the RP people loudly protesting (as usual) the suggestion to finish the run off through the mail (even though their candidate had the most votes).  They shouted to ‘finish the meeting in the parking lot!’   The ‘run off’ never happened because time ran out and we needed to vacate the building.
Immediately after the gavel went down, they gathered up by the podium.  The man at the podium would yell out a RP statement (I was toward the back and the microphone was off) and then everyone raised their hands.  This was repeated several times with lots of energy and noise.  It reminded me of the Nazi salute.  It was almost scary.   If I EVER had ANY intention of supporting Ron Paul before, it would be gone now.  They claim to support the constitution, but they really want to force their way and force their candidate with noise and intimidation—in spite of the constitution.  When you add up the ‘in your face’ Ron Paul people, the organization (lack of) and leadership (lack of)—it equals the most divisive, offensive and unbelievable meeting I have ever attended!

JAKE SEZ: the village

There was once a village with the name of Establishment.  In the village of Establishment lived the rulers of a great republic.  The people in Establishment considered themselves rulers because they got to make the rules that everyone else in the republic had to follow. Everyone except that the rulers of Establishment.  They were usually exempt from many of the laws that the others had to follow.  The people of Establishment spent all of the money in the republic with no regard as to when or how it would be repaid.  They made arbitrary rules on whims of friends, supporters and acquaintances.  These policy’s required foreclosing on the villagers homes and the watering down of the value of the currency and property while still allowing the rulers of Establishment to do as they pleased.  They kept the villages of the republic happy with empty promises that they had no intent to keep and threats of the bad thing that would happen to them if the rulers of Establishment were not there to protect them.  The rulers also allowed many people in Establishment to live off of the labors of the people in the villages while not doing any actual work themselves.  These people supported the rulers of Establishment with great enthusiasm.

A small village, renowned for their wonderful tea parties, thought that enough was enough. They protested and rallied against the theft of their hard work and the ridicule heaped upon their beliefs by the rulers of Establishment.  They presented their demands which asked for more freedom and less control of their lives and families.  These demands were printed on orange sheets of paper.  At first the rulers ignored the protest of the village.  However, after a few minor victories they started to realize that this protest could soon become widespread if something wasn’t done soon.  So the rulers of Establishment tossed a few crumbs to the village with the wonderful tea parties.  However, the tax breaks that were given usually went to friends and supporters and the rules which were relaxed benefited businesses and labor groups that supported Establishment.  When election ballots were issued, Establishment candidate names were on top of the ballot or were marked so that the villagers could see who was suppose to win.   As resentment grew and the villages anger increased, the Establishment rulers received a very lucky gift.

From the East came the feared Paulies. The villagers were frightened as rumors told of great changes.  What could they do as they only outnumbered the Paulies by over one hundred to one?   The rulers of Establishment went to the villagers and told them that if they allowed the Paulies into their villages, the Paulies would spend all their money, take their homes and make them abide by rules that the villagers would not like.  Things would be even worse under them than under the rule of Establishment.  Establishment was the lesser of two evils.  The villagers were stunned.  They held a quick meeting and then asked the rulers of Establishment to save them.  The rulers agreed under one condition.  The villager would have to sign the green sheets of surrender first. The villagers threw away their orange sheets of demands and signed the green sheets of surrender.  In the end, the rulers of Establishment got what they wanted, the Paulies got what they were after and the villagers went meekly back to their cottages while congratulating each other on the  grand battle they had fought.  Peace was upon them again.

This was not a fairly tale.  This is what I saw at the Arizona Republican Convention.  A convention that was marked by miss-management at every possible turn.  It was a shambles from the lack of foresight to campaign printing on the ballots.  Just plain ineptitude at a great location.  The thing that saddened me most was the lack of fight in the conservative movement.  We looked good and seemed to be well armed for a platform battle, but we failed to even show up for the fight.  The conservative slate was printed on orange sheet which flooded the arena.  The Republican establishment slate were printed on green sheets which were barely noticeable.  Alas, the Republican establishment won the battle with a rumor.  Green sheets flowed while orange sheets fell to the floor.  If we can not bring ourselves to make bold and coordinated movements to advance our cause, then we are no better than the villagers in my tale.   We need a tea party movement based on the tactics of the Ron Paul crowd.  We need to be organized, not take what is offered with out protest and we must demand that our ideas be recognized and acted upon.  We do not need the Ron Paul style shock troops to scare our fellow Republicans.  We just need  the common sense of good conservative principals to win the people over with the facts.  We need to talk to our fellow conservative both in and out of the Republican party.  We need to bring these people into our new Republican party in great numbers so that we may gain the influence needed to act upon our principals.  We need to organize and find a true leader that believes with us.  Not a leader that merely sees us as a pathway to an elected office.  Just one trusted individual to get us started.  It does us no good to have the support and then find out that the only candidates we have are the ones supplied by the Republican establishment.

I am going to begin the search to find a few good conservatives that are willing to start the organizational process.  We will find an individual to support.  I will keep those interested advised.

JAKE SEZ: support for romney

Let me make this clear, I want President Obama defeated.  Not only do I want President Obama defeated, but I want all of his advisers, supporters and those in congress that enable his agenda to be advanced to be defeated.   Now let’s talk about the Republican candidate, Mitt Romney.  How many people do you know who support Mitt Romney?  Now, how many of those who people support Mitt Romney state that it’s because he can defeat Obama?

How many of thoses people that support Mitt Romney will state that it’s because of his policies?  How many people think Mitt Romney is the man they have been waiting for to lead this country back to a strong and free country?  How many people believe he has a vision for this country that they themselves can believe in? That’s right, not many.  It is hard to support Mitt Romney’s policies when you’re not really sure what they are.  He changes them every few days.  Yes, The Mormons support him, but the blacks support Obama. There are more blacks than Mormons, except in the East valley.  Is it no wonder that the independents are waiting before giving their support to Mitt Romney until they see where is going to be tomorrow?

I am saying this because in this very important election, we are voting for the lesser of two evils again.  Why is it that the Republican Party can not find a candidate that will put the country first?  Is the Republican establishment so enthralled with their own importance that they can not put aside party politics to choose a man that is best for this country.  No, I am not raising the flag for some other candidate.  I, like the rest of you, will end up supporting Mitt Romney because there is nowhere else to go

JAKE SEZ: france and socialism

The French election has succeeded in putting Francois Hollande, a confirmed socialist, into power. He will be sworn into power this May.  He defeated the mostly moderate Niclocs Sarkozy.  France has decided to go with the socialist program.  They are planning to lower retirement age by two years to sixty years old, increase the number of education and union members and put a 75% tax on the rich.  What better way to increase support for the government that to control the education system.  Many of the wealthy are investigating moving to London.  I don’t think they understand, England is pretty much a socialist county as well.

This does not bode well for liberty and democracy.  When a nation controls all forms of production and wealth, the government will do pretty much what it wants.  In our own country, we see the present administration actively attempting to over load the economy. They want it to fail so that their ilk can take over.  I am sure they have a plan to keep power after the collapse.  At least I think they have a plan.  I hope this economic mess was not caused by massive incompetence.  Look back in history and see if you can find a country that has succeeded when the government totally controlled the economy and the peoples freedom.  History is full of kings and dictators trying this.  The counties and the people failed.  Those who brought the country to its knees always had a plan. The plans also failed but not until the countries failed as well. Liberty and freedom is usually destroyed in the process.  They are both a very delicate commodities.

Now that the French have now joined other European countries in selecting a socialist way of life, a question arises.  Since this leaves Germany as the only major free economy left in the European Union, will the socialist demand that Germany pay for all of the programs that the rest of European Union demands?  Probably, as this is the way it usually happens.  The Greek debacle has allowed Nazi party members to be elected to their parliament.  These Nazi groups are demanding that the government control the economy to better serve the people.  People need to realize that socialism, fascist and the Nazis are the same thing under different banners.  The only difference is the uniforms they wear.  They all want to control the government, the economy and the people for their own reasons.  They have a plan, unfortunately, it usually does not include a way to pay for the promises.

Our country is heading into the same cesspool.  If we don’t stop this slide into socialism in this next election, I don’t know if we ever will.  Like France, we will have more people taking than producing.  When the takers vote us into socialism and cause all of us to lose control over our own lives, they won’t even realize what they have accomplished.  Everyone in our congress and government appears to be more than willing to abandon the realities of freedom and liberty in order to advance the causes of their particular political party.  Look back in history.  The grandiose promises of government and the ever growing demands of the people have caused more wars then any other reasons.  A good war will drive an economy, especially if you win.

JAKE SEZ: more thoughts on todays government

Did you ever notice that a government solution usually results in the government taking more from the taxpayer in order to pay for their solution to a problem they caused?

The Dodd/Frank bill, toted as a way to regulate and simplify banking procedures, has 421 new rules, 23,000 pages and will cost the average bank about $10,500 per worker to implement.  The cost will be passed along to the users of banking services.

It has been stated that our poor economy and the lack of jobs has caused over one million illegal aliens to leave this country by self deportation.  Does that mean that all those who have not left are staying in the United States because they are receiving government payments and don’t have to work?

An item in the finical news on FBN reports that American subsidiaries have over 300 billion dollars trapped overseas.  This money is excess profit that businesses have made in foreign transactions.  Our government wants a 30% tax all all monies brought back into the United States.  Businesses, trying to save the tax, are opening new business opportunities over seas in an attempt to avert that 30% tax.  Maybe we should allow that money back into the United States if it is invested in business which would open new job opportunities here in our own country.  Of course, I’m sure members of both parties would be happy with an increase in contribution to their election committees as a sufficient incentive to pass such a law.

Food prices are forecast to increase at a 2 ½ % to 4% rate.  Fuel is forecast to raise at 25%.  Yet neither of these commodities are figured into the inflation forecast.  I assume that the government thinks that if specific factors are too high, then change the items included in the makeup of the forecast.  It will look better for the election.  They are doing it with the unemployment figures.

The FED has released a forecast that over 351 banks will not be able to pay back the TRP funds they received.  This will result in a loss of up to 60 billion dollars.  Think this through.  The Fed originally borrowed the money at about 2.% from China.  They loaned the money to the banks at about .03%.  The banks took the money and purchased Treasury bills at about 1.4%.  The banks will make about 1.1 % on the money by doing nothing more than returning the monies back to the U. S. Treasury.  The U. S. Treasury then has more money for the FED to loan more banks.  A viscous circle that goes round and round.  I think Ron Paul is correct, we need to have an audit of the FED.

I heard the panel on a talk show last week define an individual who feels that they are due an entitlement as someone who demands a benefit and wants the government to to take it from someone else and give it to them.  If they took it themselves they would be arrested.

Having the members of congress lecture the Secret Service on moral standards is much like the kettle calling the pot black.

JAKE SEZ: fracking

Fracking is the injection of specific chemicals into the ground under high pressure that cracks the rock formations and releases the trapped oil and/or natural gas.  This process has been the main reason the United States has been increasing its production of energy despite the attempts of our government to shut down the production of fossil energy in this country.  Most of these new discoveries and the resulting production have been on lands that the government does not control.

The Obama administration has tried to shut down this new production process by claiming that it pollutes the local water supply.  In California, the EPA used this argument to shut down the oil and gas fields that were using the fracking process.  Oil companies took the EPA to court.  A year long study revealed that neither the water supply nor the ground water tables were being polluted by this process.  The courts ruled against the EPA and allowed the energy companies to start using the fracking process once again.

The Obama administration has not given up.  The EPA now contends that the chemicals used in the fracking process are toxic to humans and is issuing new regulation concerning their use. The new regulations, written by the EPA, require that permits must be obtained from the government prior to the obtaining, transportation or use of these chemicals.  Of course, no new permits are being issued at this time.  The government has found a different way to skin the cat. Its impossible to out lawyer the government. It has thousands just waiting to be thrown into the fight.

Washington is working under the illusion that it can do anything it wants and we the masses will follow along blindly.  We need to change the people and the culture in Washington D.C..

JAKE SEZ: new republican coalition

Alright, the republican primary’s are for all intents and purposes over.  Like him or not, Mitt Romney is our leader.  I personally don’t care for or trust him, but four more years of President Obama scares me to death.  First, lets get Mitt Romney into the white house. But, lets also give ourselves a few safeguards.

We need to elect CONSERVATIVE members of congress that will not abandon their principals.  We need the new republican coalition to grow in power and become a bull work that can withstand the power of the corruption, greed and good old boy network that prevails in Washington, D.C..  I know, it seems impossible, but it can be done.  In yesterdays paper it was reported that Utah’s Senator Orin Hatch is being given a run for his senate seat by a coalition of conservatives.  Sen. Hatch has been calling himself a conservative for years, along with every other person running in this election, but we need to watch what they do and not just what they say.  I believe that Senator Hatch is the first of many old stream republicans looking over their shoulders during these upcoming elections.  One of the leaders in this new movement seems to be Rand Paul.  Yes, the son of Ron Paul.  Rand is following his fathers economic policy and adjusting his foreign and domestic policies.  I like what I see so far.  Keep an eye on him.

Here in Arizonan’s 4th district, the race is between State Representative Ron Gould, Sheriff Babeu and our present U. S. Representative Gosnar.  Gosnar has proven himself to be vulnerable to Washington pressures by blindly following the establishment republican leadership policy.  This is a sure sign that he needs to be replaced.  Sheriff Babeu has violated one of the tenets of good police work.  He became involved with a violator of the law and aided him by overlooking his violations.  He abandoned his trust by the people for his own personal reasons.  Ron Gould has shown that he is a conservative and will stand by his beliefs even if they go against the party.  He has stood as a leader in the state legislature and took the pressure from fellow representatives to do what was right.  This is the type of person we need to represent us in Washington.

Another race the could hold out hope for a change is the one for U. S. Senator from Arizona. This is the race to replace Senator John Kyle.  The republican establishment leadership in Washington D.C. wants Jeff Flake to help continue their power.  Jeff flake, in my mind, is arrogant and is most interested in the prestige and power that goes with the office.  He is quite impressed with himself.  He recently received a campaign contribution of $718,000.00 from the “Club for Growth”.  Two days later we are informed by the news media that Rep. Flake is the lobbyist for a uranium mine owned by Iran.  Rep. flake states we was not aware that Iran was a part owner of the mine.  Maybe he should have looked into just who is paying him these large sums of money before putting it into his pockets.  Iran now claims that they have received no uranium from the mine.  Like we believe Iran has a uranium mine but does not use it for their own weapons development.  His opponent is a local business man named Wil Cardon.   Don’t know much about him, but I will vote for him to get rid of a man who broke his own promise to observe the term limits agreement then feels  he is too important to leave congress.

We must make a decision this election.  Will we stand for liberty and individual freedom or will we succumb to the promises of more government handouts.  Over forty percent of the American voters have already chosen more government handouts.
