HELLO MR. PRESIDENT

Deeply ingrained arrogance in an individual is forever irrevocable. Once a person gets himself into the feeling of some God given superiority it cannot be reversed. Barrack Obama has this affliction, and it surfaces so frequently that many people are willing to overlook this extreme weakness in character.

We here in Arizona have witnessed it first hand in excess. The “Evil Emperor” has blessed us with a visit [strictly political] to the Intel facility in chandler. Before he was on the ground two minutes he showed us his distain.

Apparently our Governor, Jan Brewer had written a passage in her book that E. E. did not like and couldn’t wait to tell her of his displeasure. He was not interested in discussion of the topic, but just wanted to bully the governor of our State. Our Gal Jan, the ever pleasant smiley and cordial Governor was not intimidated by this boorish but typical Obama bullying. A much classier Governor than the repulsive President was on the tarmac that day.

We as Arizonans must understand that the Federal Governments war against us and a few other Red States will continue until America sends these Chicago goons back to Illinois. Thumbs up Governor, you make me proud to be a foot soldier in the war against tyranny.

GOODBYE MR. PRESIDENT

JAKE SEZ: regulations and bureaucracy

At our monthly LD21 meeting, one of our state representatives was discussing a bill that he was planning to sponsor.  The bill would require our schools to get the families of students involved in the education process.  He felt this would help make the students become more attentive and, hopefully, make them more responsive.  He also felt that the state could rate the schools with letter grades to entice the schools to work harder getting parent participation.  The parents would see this grade and would have more confidence in the school.  This, in my opinion, is another of those ideas that might sound good but will not work.  Don’t forget, the problem is the parents who do not care, are required to work multiple jobs or know less than the students.  However, forget the feasibility of the idea, I want to use this as a sounding board for how regulations and a bureaucracy are born.

Lets limit ourselves to just public schools and not worry about religious or home schooling.  There are about 175 different school districts in the State of Arizona with well over 2000 individual schools.  We can figure over 50,000 teachers and aides.  These are rough figures at best, but they will do for our discussion.

First, committees must be formed to decide what will be required and what guidelines will be provided so that the program can be properly evaluated.  After these multiple meetings, a form must be designed to obtain the information that is needed for the evaluation.  Then the form must be printed and distributed to the participating parties. The 175 school district will want to add or delete some information so that they are properly represented.  This will require more meetings and revisions.

Now we have a form and it is ready to be sent to the individual schools who will then pass it out to the teachers.  The teachers, already over whelmed by the many different programs which were instituted to assist the teacher, will do the actual work in this survey. They will be the ones required to contact the parents or guardians involved.  My daughter is a teacher and I really don’t want her to add to her long day by visiting homes at night.  If they call the parents to the school for the meetings, then the same parents who are already involved will be the ones who show up.  But, let say the teachers does make contact with every parent or guardian.  The teachers will then have to fill in all the blocks and spaces on a form for every parent of every student.  The man hours involved will be tremendous. 50,000 teacher at about one hour a week, I am being overly optimistic, equals four hours a month times nine months comes to 1,800,000 man hours a year just to fill in the forms.

Lets say the teachers did their work and sent the forms to the schools front office.  The school staff must now qualify, file and make copies of the forms.  They will keep and file copies to prove that they did the work.  Now the schools will send the forms to the district where the same thing happens all over again.  Some one files, evaluates and makes copies. The district will have some disputes and will likely send some forms back to the schools to be corrected.  Now the information is ready to go to the state. It is unknown how many more man hours and file clerks this has added to our total.

The Arizona Department of Education will then take all the forms and go through them individually.  They will gleam the information needed to satisfy the requirements of the new regulation and then some.  No reason to let all this information go to waste.  I am sure some important supervisor and a couple of assistants could do this in a few months.  Then there will be meetings to discuss the raw data.  Finally the forms will be filed away for safe keeping.  The Arizona Department of Education will award a letter grade to each school. Someone will print and distribute a form with that letter grade to the districts who will pass it on to the schools.  If that was the end of the problem, that would be fantastic, but this is the government, so it won’t be.  The state will have to either reward or penalize the schools depending on their grade.

Now we will need meetings to determine what will be the reward or the penalty.  The staff and some assistants will have to supervise the enforcement system to make sure it is completed properly.  Of course a form will be made to properly record the actions of the teachers, the schools, the districts and the state.  An appeals system will have to be established so as to let those who disagree with the findings attempt to correct the record. A form will be produced to record the proceedings.

What is really scary is that this will be repeated every year.  Some time in the future, someone will ask why are we doing this.  A government person will say he doesn’t know why but if we didn’t do it then how would we know how many parents were participating in the education of their children.  The person who asked the question will then suggest a couple of new regulations and will go on to another problem.

This is the birth of a bureaucracy.  Regulations are the mothers milk of a bureaucracy.

JAKE SEZ: seal team 6

Back in May of 2011, Seal Team 6 killed Osama bin Laden in a raid on his home in Pakistan.  This incident got President Obama quite a bump in the polls and he ended up getting credit for the decision making that led to this incident.

Now, it seems that President Obama again signed an order to send the same Seal Team 6 into action  They were sent to Somalia to rescue American and Danish prisoners that had been in the custody of pirates for some time.  Again Seal Team 6 completed their mission. by rescuing all the hostages alive and killing all of the pirates.  Was it just a coincidence that this raid was in the same time frame as the presidents State of The Union speech? Could our president be trying to make the members of Seal Team 6 into his trick ponies? It would be a shame if one of the worlds greatest fighting units was used for political purposes.  Only with this president would that thought even come to mind.

JAKE SEZ: newt or romney?

There seems to be a real battle looming concerning the Republican candidate for President between Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich.  I will not mention Santorum, who is everyone’s second choice, nor Ron Paul, who in my opinion has a great monetary policy but not much else.  I do wish to opine on both Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich.

I support Newt Gingrich.  Newt is a street fighter who will not stand still and let the media and the establishment Republicans walk all over him.  I, as a conservative, almost became an independent because I was tired of the Republicans letting everyone who is not a conservative tell us what to do and how to do it.  Like they really cared if we succeeded.  Our women were called some of the rankest names ever and nary one Republican stood to defend them.  If a Republican does say something detrimental concerning a Democrat, all Republicans will be denounced as being mean spirited and our establishment Republicans will fall all over themselves apologizing.  The ABC article concerning an actuation from Newts ex-wife just before the election was typical of the media.  Do whatever you can to destroy a Republican but heaven forbid you tarnish a Democrat no matter how evil or disgusting he may be.  The first question asked was a gotcha question concerning these comments.  This was just another example of the media attempting to let us know that they are in control.  Well, Newt knocked it out of the park.  Finally someone stood-up and kicked them in the groin.

Mitt Romney by contrast, when confronted with some accusation, will act befuddled and will give a half harted answer.  Its almost if Mitt Romney does not expect to be asked these kind of questions.  He will not be able to attack back until he’s had three days with the use of many advisers to think up a good come back line.  He is probably by upbringing and character a good person and is not inclined to strike back.  He has a good business mind and would probably be useful in a cabinet position like being in charge of the U.S. Treasury.  Unfortunately, we now need a fighter.  If you can’t fight back now, how will you react when the best Chicago and Washington D.C. politicians check you out from your adenoids to your hemorrhoids and beyond.  There will no limits on their attacks.

It feels good having someone stand up and to be proud of their conservative nature.   I was one of many people who saw us being beaten down with snide remarks and petty voices while wondering why we had no one stand up to heed the call.  I am surprised, astonished and very happy that we are finally being heard.  If it take Newt Gingrich to do, so be it.  I will vote and support him for no other reason that he will fight back.  I wonder if all those Romney people who are forever telling me that once Mitt Romney is the candidate we will need to come together and forget out differences, will change their minds?  They chant  that the main job is to defeat President Obama.  Do you think they will say the same thing if Gingrich is the nominee?  I bet those establishment Republicans well give watery support or none at all.  Yes, I was one of those who had become use to being dismissed by the GOP.  Now I am a part of this party and will do my best to assist Newt Gingrich send Obama back to Chicago.

Another hollow proposal / hidden agenda by Pres. Obama

Pres. Obama wants to do what “he says” every Republican and Conservative wants to do and that is shrink the size of Government. He proposes this in a consolidation of agencies within the Commerce Department (which he also wants to return to a Cabinet position). The agencies mentioned for consolidation include:
Small Business Administration: 2,147 Employees (approx.)
$569M annual Budget
Office of US Trade Representative: 200 Employees (approx.)
No published annual budget found
Export/Import Bank: 395 Employees (approx.)
$14M annual budget
Overseas Private investment Corp: Self Sustaining, “No cost to taxpayers”
Trade and Development Agency: $56.2$ Annual Budget

However, let’s see what the potential savings would be? If all of these Agencies were eliminated; a census reduction of approximately 3,200 (out of approx 11.8M Federal Employees) and annual budget savings of (wait for it), $639M should be realized. Note that $639M is approximately 0.02% of the annual budget while the census reduction is approximately 0.03%. Not quite what I would consider even close to noteworthy.

It is my charge that by “Consolidation”, in this particular case, Pres. Obama doesn’t necessarily mean cost savings. It is my contention that the hidden agenda is to isolate these agencies from Congressional oversight and further hide how much money is being spent in these areas.

Have you wondered why this is all within the Commerce Department? One possible reason is that if the Progressives can maintain control of the Commerce Department, they will likely use, or abuse as the case may be, the Commerce Clause (Section 8 of the Constitution) to further their statist agenda.

JAKE SEZ: barberic act?

A group of U. S. Marines have been caught on a video tape in Afghanistan urinating on the dead body of a terrorist that they had apparently killed in action.  This act has been branded as barbaric by some local Afghanistan freedom fighters.  Who were these people that declared this act by our Marines as being barbaric?  It was the Taliban terrorists. The same caring and loving terrorist that video taped the sawing, not cutting or chopping, but sawing the head off of a live American.  The video tape was then distributed for the viewing pleasure of other caring radical Islamic terrorists.  This is the same humanitarian bands of Afghanistan freedom fighters that strap bombs on children and old people and have them blow themselves up in markets, plazas and other public places.  These bombs kill men, women and children indiscriminately.  This misunderstood group of terrorist also hung the bodies of dead Americans by their feet from a bridge, stripped them to their underwear and then lit them on fire.  They encouraged children to throw rocks at the flaming bodies.

Do I condone the act by the Marines?  No, but having been in the Vietnam war and knowing of the heinous acts that were committed by the Viet Cong on those who resisted their take over, I can understand the need to strike back.  This act by our Marines may not have been the smartest act committed, but it was hardly barbaric.  I notice that the “barbaric” comment has been echoed by some of the media and liberal politicians.

.   What we have here is the old double standard in play.  While the terrorist in Afghanistan were setting off roadside bombs to kill or wound our soldiers, our military high command, responding to pressure from the liberals, had some of our fighting men reprimanded because they were taunted the enemy during firefights.  The Islamic extremists were setting up ambushes and trying to kill our warriors but our men were punished because they said bad words.  Is it no wonder that we have not won a war since World War II.  We win the original battles but once the politicians take over we lose the peace.

The double standard is one of the favorite tools in the liberal handbook. Will we never learn to respond accordingly?

A Vanishing Dream

I was watching the Coyotes/Red Wings Hockey game and during the 2nd intermission a commercial played America. I found myself extremely moved and wondered why the Progressive/Socialist Agenda would want to destroy one of the greatest gift from God to mankind; individual accountability, responsibility, i.e. the freedom to chose and as a result, individual rewards. Theirs is an amoral point of view, evidenced by the incitement of Greed, Envy, Acedia (You’re a victim!), Sloth (I’m entitled!). You get the picture.

What will the next Generation be left with?

JAKE SEZ: conservative voters

It would appear that once again our Republican candidate for president will be selected by the establishment Republicans, the Democrats, the media (same as the Democrats) and a few voters on the East coast.  These are the same people who gave us Dole, Bush and McCain.

According to a Gallup poll, 51% of all likely voters of all parties and independents described themselves as conservatives.  This 51% is a higher amount than the entire Republican Party which is just 31% of all registered voters.  The same polls show that conservatives are the most enthusiastic about voting in the upcoming election.  Yet, the moderates, Rhinos and neo-cons in our party tell us that we need to move toward the center in order to gather in the independents.  How about we try presenting a solid conservative front and see what happens.  We need to pull away from the politics as usual crowd.  Conservatives need to change the path of the party before it splits itself in multiple facets.

The Republican establishment is content to share power in Washington.  They enjoy the power and perks associated with being an elected member of Congress.  It is easier to talk about solutions to our many problems without having to actually do something or to be responsible for solving these problems.  That means they want to protect the status quo.  We need to support a truly conservative candidate and not accept a moderately conservative candidate.  Think about your country first.  Put the United States of American before your other concerns.  We need to make sure that our Arizona election is not just another me-too exercise.  This country is on the verge of a monetary and social collapse while our government representatives continue down the path to ruination with smiles on their faces.

The fight against tyranny continues.

I wish that I could give credit to the author of this essay, but it is author unknown. I am sure that it must have been written by a victim of the far leftist greed and power hungry cabal that has existed in Wisconsin for so many decades.
Perhaps the people of California, Illinois, and many other habitually crooked states should see what Gov. Scott Walker is trying to do to raise the quality of life and freedom in Wisconsin. Then maybe the voters of Wisconsin will defeat the recall effort brought about by the professional agitaters and malcontents.

We used to make things here in Wisconsin.
We made machine tools in Milwaukee, cars in Kenosha and ships in Sheboygan. We mined iron in the north and lead in the south. We made cheese, we made brats, we made beer, and we even made napkins to clean up what we spilled. And we made money.
The original war on poverty was a private, mercenary affair. Men like Harnishfeger, Allis, Chalmers, Kohler, Kearney, Trecke, Modine, Case, Mead, Falk, Allen, Bradley, Cutler, Hammer, Bucyrus, Harley, Davidson, Pabst, and Miller lifted millions up from subsistence living to middle class comfort. They did it not “Fighting Bob” La Follette or any of the politicians who came along later to take the credit and rake a piece of the action through the steepest progressive scheme in the nation.
Those old geezers with the beards cured poverty by putting people to work. Generations of Wisconsinites learned trades and mastered them in the factories, breweries, mills, foundries, and shipyards those capitalists built with their hands. Thousands of small businesses supplied these industrial giants, and tens of thousands of proprietors and professionals provided all of the services that all those other families needed to live well. The wealth got spread around plenty.
The profits generated by our great industrialists funded charities, the arts, education, libraries, museums, parks, and community development associations. Taxes on their profits, property, and payrolls built our schools, roads, bridges, and the safety net that Wisconsin’s progressives are still taking credit for, as if the money came from their council meetings. The offering plates in churches of every denomination were filled with money left over from company paychecks that were made possible because a few bold young men risked it all and got rich. Don’t thank God for them; thank them that you learned about God.
Their wealth pales in comparison to the wealth they created for millions and millions of other Wisconsin families. Those with an appreciation for the immeasurable contributions of Wisconsin’s industrial icons of 1910 will find the list of Wisconsin’s top ten employers of 2010 appalling:
Walmart, University of Wisconsin–Madison, Milwaukee Public Schools, U.S. Postal Service, Wisconsin Department of Corrections, Menards, Marshfield Clinic, Aurora Health Care, City of Milwaukee, and Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs.
This is what a century of progressivism will get you. Wisconsin is the birthplace of the progressive movement, the home of the Socialist Party, the first state to allow public sector unions, the cradle of environmental activism, a liberal fortress walled off against common sense for decades. Their motto, Forward Wisconsin, should be changed to Downward Wisconsin if truth in advertising applies to slogans.
There is no shortage of activists, advocates, and agitators in this State. If government were the answer to our problems, we would have no problems. The very same people – or people just like them – who picketed, struck, sued, taxed, and regulated our great companies out of this state are now complaining about the unemployment and poverty that they have brought upon themselves. They got rid of those old rich white guys and replaced them with…nothing.
Wisconsin ranks 47th in the rate of new business formation. We are one of the worst states for native college graduate exodus; our brightest and most ambitions graduates leave to seek their fortunes elsewhere. Why shouldn’t they? Our tax rates are among the worst in the nation and our business climate, perpetually in the bottom of the rankings, has only recently moved up thanks to a Governor who now faces a recall for his trouble.
In 1970, the new environmental movement joined unions and socialists in a coordinated effort to demonize industry. When I was in college, the ranting against “polluting profiteers” was like white noise – always there. They won, and here is the price of their victory: in 1970, manufacturers paid 18.2% of Wisconsin’s property taxes – the major source of school funding – and in 2010 those who remained paid 3.7%.
So who is it that caused the funding crisis in our schools and the skyrocketing tax rates on our homes? It is the same ignoramuses who are sitting on bridges, pooping on things, and passing around recall petitions. The unemployed 26-year old in the hemp hat looking for sympathy might look instead for some inspiration from Jerome I. Case, who started his agricultural equipment business at the age of 21, miraculously without an iPhone 4s.
Mr. Case got rich by asking people what they want and making it for them. He did not get rich by telling people what he wanted and waiting for them to do something about it. If you want to declare war on your own poverty, memorize that.
In the last decade alone we have lost 150,000 manufacturing jobs in this state – over 25%. And it’s not just jobs that have been lost; the companies that provided them are gone. Those jobs are not coming back, no matter how long we extend unemployment benefits pretending they are. The 450,000 people who still work in manufacturing in Wisconsin are damn good it at, but we are now outnumbered by people who work for government. A significant number of the latter are tasked with taxing, regulating, and generally harassing the former. While it is true that many manufacturers chased low-wage opportunities on their own, many more were driven out of the state by the increasing cost of doing business here.
It is a myth that unions improve wages. If you consider only the 1,000 jobs in a closed shop, you might think an average union wage is, say, $30/hr. But if you add in the zero wages of the 10,000 jobs lost in companies chased out by union harassment, the average of all 11,000 union workers is reduced to $2.72/hr. Do you know the average wage of union iron miners in this state? Zero. And the left is fighting hard to keep it that way in Northern Wisconsin, looking out for the working man, they call it.
It is also a myth that free trade causes job losses. Over the past three years, U.S. manufacturers sold $70 billion more goods to our Free Trade Agreement (FTA) partners than we bought from them. Conversely, we suffered a $1.3 trillion trade deficit with countries where no FTA’s exist. I doubt that kids are going to learn that in our government, union monopoly schools, it doesn’t fit the narrative.
No one wants to see another person suffer in poverty, and liberty is the best economic policy there is. The great industrialists of Wisconsin took less than a generation to lift millions up to a life of dignity, pride, prosperity and good will. When enterprise was free and government was limited, we all prospered.
Those great men of industry were not anointed at birth to be rich; they rose from nothing to great wealth through their own hard work and the value they added to their employees and their customers through choice, competition, and voluntary exchange. That is the only sure path to real prosperity; the debt economy is a temporary illusion.
Look again at the list of our famous industrialists and the list of our current employers. Who would you wish your child or grandchild to grow up to be? Who do you think will do more good on this earth, Jerome I Case and his tractors, or the Coordinator of Supplier Diversity at MPS.
If you chose MPS, then apply now – that job is open, and it pays up to $72,000 plus benefits and early retirement. Go in peace and save the world. Me, I’m going with the tractor guy.
